Short poems from Percy Wills

Percy Wills, the subject of his biography, "Forging Ahead for God", was a prolific writer. As he trekked over the footpaths on his way to visit logging camps, lighthouses, or single homes, his busy mind crafted many poems and short sayings, besides thinking over the Scriptures he would preach about.

Here are a couple of those short works. I will add some of his longer poems to this website from time to time.

"Why should God,
Who has created me,
and given me richly all things
to enjoy
Be forced to listen to my complaints
rather than my praise?"

"Speak slowly,
and above all be kind.
Each life you touch
holds tender spots
so quickly scarred.
